Residence to the ‘Marquis of Santillana’ back in the 15th century, the building has now been carefully renovated into this delightful 5-star hotel. With such an intriguing history you will feel as if you have stepped back in time but with all the comforts of the present day.

The original oak staircase (made from a single tree trunk) is an impressive sight upon entering the hotel. Although fully equipped hotel with all the latest facilities there is a good balance between luxury, tradition and comfort.

Very well equipped room, spectacular Christmas decoration, very attentive and friendly staff, exquisite breakfast. The location, both within the town and with respect to different tourist spots in the region: 10 The hotel itself is dreamlike and the gardens are a real spectacle. Without a doubt, 100% recommended!

We highly recommend this charming hotel.

First Santillana del Mar is a charming town and this hotel is part of this charm. Our room was large and extremely comfortable. The staff was very helpful providing information about dining the evening we arrived. The breakfast was in a lovely location and provided many options.

Must visit- Magestic elegance in comfy cozy spaces.

Beautiful old building, great ambiance and decor. Very elegant. Plush. Great buffet breakfast. Comfy bed and linens. Spacious. Truly a spectacular place.

Poor lighting in bathroom though. Other than that, cold stone walls that are to be expected in a stone building 6 centuries old.

Absolutely stunning hotel. The staff were fabulous. The room was amazing and the breakfast was superb. The staff were very attentive to your every need. We sat in the lounge by a log fire enjoying a drink in the evening. Secure parking a plus

Wonderful setting in what May be considered the prettiest village in Spain.

Wonderful stay in an historical building, nicely appointed furnishings. Very comfortable, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Parking on site in the middle of the village a big plus. This is just the venue to cast yourself back in time and enjoy a day or two exploring the area.

No full length mirror, this would have been a nice plus.

Exceptional

Set in a beautiful and characterful period building, the hotel retains many original architectural features whilst incorporating all requisite modern facilities. It is tastefully decorated with the facsimile Leonardos and other Renaissace masters an amusing addition. The staff were particularly excellent, most helpful, attentive and clearly enjoying their work. This was an exceptional place to stay which we cannot recommend highly enough.

Unique and beautiful

Beautiful and historic manor house. You feel you are staying in a home rather than a hotel. The garden is lovely and great for enjoying drinks. The staff is extremely helpful. This is an one of a kind place to stay.

Our room was enormous but dark because it only had a window in the roof rafters. Otherwise, a perfect stay.
